MBC Max (stylized as MBC MAX) is a Saudi Arabian free-to-air television channel that broadcasts English-language films 24/7 and Arabic subtitles, and is particularly known for airing dubbed Turkish drama series, that broadcasts non-stop Hollywood films and is an alternative to its sister channel MBC 2, it was broadcasting films and TV programs dubbed or subtitled in Arabic, but after the launch of MBC 4, the channel became specialized in films only.^{[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44][45][46][47][48][49][50][51][52]} The channel mostly broadcasts Hollywood movies but it also seldom features British, Canadian, French, Indian, Korean, Turkish, Russian, Spanish, Persian, Chinese and other foreign films. MBC Max has managed to negotiate long-term deals with the top Hollywood studios, securing first-run right and ensuring a steady flow of the top box-office movies. The channel largely targets the Arabic audience, especially young adults, having an important popularity among Arab viewers..^[53][54] serving as an alternative to its sister channel, MBC 2.^{[55][56][57][58][59][60][61][62]}

The channel was launched as a test broadcast on 22 October 2008. During that time, it would continuously show its own promotional TV ad on loop. The channel's official launch date was the 26 October at 6:00 pm KSA time.^[63] Its first aired film was Spider-Man.

MBC Max shows films with milder, more family-friendly content compared to MBC 2. MBC Max may not show horror films and other related genres. Furthermore, the channel does not show any film that contains extreme forms of violence. MBC Max has slightly more censorship than MBC 2, mostly with the audio, simply removing the majority of a film's bad language, as well as bigger cuts of other censored and sexual scenes.

MBC Max also features MBC 4 and MBC Action prints of animated and family films, always broadcasting in the middle of the afternoon U.A.E. time, as these films feature the same MBC 4-based and MBC Action-based, higher-level censorship. This only applies to films that were originally on MBC 4 and MBC Action, as the animated and family films that premiered on MBC Max did not feature such censorship; many of those films later appeared on MBC 4 and MBC Action, censored.

Additionally, MBC Max broadcasts classical films more often than MBC 2, since the majority of Hollywood films from the 1960s and earlier are considered mild by later standards.^{[64][65][66][67]}
