詹姆斯·哈登 FRSE（英語：James Hutton，1726年6月3日—1797年3月26日)，苏格兰地质学家、医生、博物学家、化学家、農學家。[2]他的理论主要是关于地质学和地质时期，包括了火成说和漸变论。哈登的理論為現代地質學的發展奠定了基礎，因而常被稱為“現代地質學之父”。[3][4]
生平
1726年出生于苏格兰爱丁堡。毕业于爱丁堡大學，巴黎大学和莱顿大学。
