合作制作
2016年11月，漫威电视与IMAX联合宣布推出基于同名超级英雄改编的真人电视剧《异人族》。该剧由漫威与ABC Studios共同制作，IMAX首次作为投资合作伙伴参与，尤其在视觉效果方面可以让漫威能够投入高于以往电视剧集的制作成本。全剧采用IMAX数字摄影机拍摄。2017年9月，将《异人族》前两集重新剪辑为特别剧场版，在全球IMAX影院率先上映，随后每周在ABC电视网播出。[12][13][14] 由于剧场版前两集反响不佳，仅收获350万美元票房，IMAX首席执行官理查德·葛尔方对此表示："未来我们将采取更审慎的投资策略，参照《权力的游戏》的模式控制资本投入与内容制作。在考虑自有资金投资时会更加保守，并严格评估投资规模。[15]
