很多人都問我《You Make Me Want to Be a Man》這首歌在講什麼，對我而言，這首歌的意義很簡單而且很直接。我正在學習怎麼和我的先生相處，這是我第一次這麼近地去面對另一個人，去面對我們不了解彼此的地方或是我們有爭執的地方，我覺得就像因為…有些部分是跟親密關係有關的，我覺得要是我可以做男人，我就可以在某些方面更了解他一點。所以我想要更了解他，我就想說“我希望可以做男生！”於是我就寫了這首歌。
